CrowBox Laser Cutter Files

This section is provided for those who intend to do their own laser cutting. Here we provide detailed notes on the type and specifications for materials required to cut each of the four sheets of parts.

We also provide the actual laser-cutter-ready geometry files in .DXF format. Those are available in the Download Files section at the bottom of this page.

Preview of parts geometry

For reference purposes, here are preview images of the four sheets of laser-cut components, along with specific notes on the type of material that should be used to fabricate each sheet.

NOTE: These are image-based previews of each parts sheet, for reference and identification. To download the actual ready-to-cut geometry for these parts, scroll to the bottom of this page.

Download Files

The files provided here have been exported to .DXF file format with millimeters as the unit and ready for laser cutting.

crowbox_v2_r3_dxf.zip

Inside this zip archive you will find four files, each one having a filename suffix which indicates which material the sheet is intended to be cut from:

  • _transparent.dxf - Cut these parts from transparent acrylic
  • _light.dxf - Cut these parts from light-colored opaque acrylic
  • _dark.dxf - Cut these parts from dark-colored opaque acrylic
  • _styrene.dxf - Cut these parts from 0.5mm thick white sheet styrene

NOTE: You may choose to cut both the 'light' and 'dark' parts from the same color acrylic but please note that the assembly instructions video will refer to parts from the 'light' sheet and the 'dark' sheet, so if you cut your colored parts from a single color you may find it a bit more work when it comes to identifying parts during the assembly process. It's not a severe issue, but worth noting.
