Community Builds & Variants
Since the CrowBox was released, people have built their own adaptations of the design: different materials, different fabrication methods, different sizes. This page collects the ones we know about. If you have another, let us know!
Please read first
These builds were created by people outside the CrowBox project. We have not built, tested, or verified any of them, and we do not provide support for them. Listing a build here is not an endorsement of it.
- For help with a community build, contact its creator, not us. Questions about these designs on our channels will be redirected.
- You are responsible for the safety of your own build. Any box you put outdoors will be used by live animals. Untested designs may have sharp edges, pinch points, entrapment risks, materials that degrade or become toxic outdoors, or mechanisms that fail in ways the original design does not. Assess your build yourself before deploying it, and check it regularly once deployed.
- Check the licence on each build before you use it. Licence terms are set by the creator and may differ from ours.

3D-printable housing conversion
CrowBox for FDM 3D printing by NatureDevCH, hosted on MakerWorld. Converts the laser-cut housing panels into printable parts. The electronics, wiring, and CrOS software are unchanged from the standard build, so the Overview Document and Bill of Materials still apply for everything other than the housing. Built something?
If you have made a CrowBox variant you would like listed here, tell us on the CrowBox Google group. We list builds that look like a good-faith adaptation of the project; we do not review them for safety or correctness.
